Geri Cassady is licensed by the Georgia Composite Board as an Associate Professional Counselor and certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor. She received a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University in 2014; in which she gained experience in a private practice setting. The following year, Geri obtained a Degree of Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University. In 2016, she began working in community mental health with a core community agency.
Geri enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples. She has experience working with individuals with issues related to mood disorders, relational issues, communication, conflict-resolution, grief/loss, and self-esteem. With compassion, understanding, and empathy; she works with individuals so they feel empowered and supported to live more productive, self-determined and satisfied lives.
As a counselor, Geri believes that an individual cannot be understood without considering the whole person, which includes social factors along with mind, body, and spirit. Therefore, she utilizes a wholistic/holistic approach when addressing the concerns of each individual she is able to assist. Her primary therapeutic style is guided by a Cognitive Behavioral approach; however she also utilizes Reality, Narrative, Solution-Focused, and Positive Psychology models.
