Kiara Baldwin is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia. She received her Master’s degree from Mercer University where she had the opportunity to intern in several school settings, working with school-aged children in all grade levels. Kiara has experience as a community-based therapist where she had the opportunity to go into the community and work with individuals with issues that were related to mental disorders, trauma from environmental experiences, and issues within the family structure. As a community-based therapist, Kiara was able to gain a further understanding of cultural and diverse implications that individuals face when it comes to resistance to therapy as well as barriers that come from the lack of family support. Kiara also has experience as an administrative assistance in private practice and interning as a school counseling for over 3 years. During her clinical experience, she has utilized evidence-based modalities that include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Behavior Therapy, and Psychoanalysis.
Kiara has experience in facilitating groups, family therapy, and individual therapy. She specializes in assisting individuals with issues relating to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief/loss, and trauma.
Kiara’s work as a psychotherapist is grounded in the basis of understanding that with a healthy therapeutic relationship, the client will be able to progress in the direction that fulfills their desired outcome. Kiara has developed a passion for working with young individuals due to an understanding that the youthful years have the most impact regarding growth and development. With working with adults and family, she is mindful that past experiences influence one's current perspective in life as well as focusing on current events that are causing a barrier in living a fulfilling life. This clinician strives to provide an atmosphere where clients can find comfort in being vulnerable.
